Cork + Frame = Fun

giveaways

I am so embarrassed to say I forgot to take a before photo.  I hate that!
Alright imagine a medium tone wood frame with a strip of funky ribbon around it and
a not so pro paint by numbers horse painting. I think that about sums it up.
Now imagine BLACK spray paint.  Well I'll just show you.
This is of course the after.  Here is how I did it.

Frame and Cork.

I used cork Shelf liner.

I had to decide on the trim.  I love the first one but chose the white.

I always knew pizza was good for more than that 10 lbs on my thighs.

I cut the cardboard to fit the frame.

Then I cut the cork to size.

I then stuck to cork to the cardboard.  I did this step twice
using two sheets of the cork to make it a little thicker.

Make sure you tell your husband why you have the cardboard on the counter
My DH decided to take notes on mine. No worries this will be on the back but I
am still planning to cover it with a nice "made by" label.

I glued the trim on with my trusty glue gun.  Small but MIGHTY.

Now I need thumb tacks.  A few scrapbook supplies will do.

I cut the tabs off the brads.

added the sticker letter.

Hot glue was not an option for me it usually doesn't work on metal.
I just used super glue and let it dry.

Don't you "LOVE" them??

I made them in black too!

So easy!  Happy Crafting!

Please WELCOME Rifle (MoonShine Named him) the calf.

Isn't he cute??  He is about 2 weeks old and his momma couldn't feed him anymore.
He is in the best shape of any calves we have had to bottle feed.
He has a lot of spunk and took the bottle right away.

SOOO Cute!  We are trying to decide if we want the kids to halter break him and use him in 4-H or keep him a bull and have more babies.  Decisions Decisions.

My Best After Christmas Deal

I was at WinCo getting a few groceries and happen to see two baskets with Christmas Clearance items.
I was so excited when I found these cute little round boxes.  The large ones were $1.74 and the small snowman ones were only .74cents.

That's not the best part.  These turned into these.

Yup the large ones had TWO more inside and the small one more!
WOO HOO!  That's what I call a good deal!
All this for $6.44 + Tax.

Can't wait till next year to use these to put gifts in them!

Monogram Frame

giveaways

One of the gifts I made this year for Christmas was a monogram frame for my Bro & SIL.
I could not show sooner for fear that they would see my blog and alas my surprise would be no more.
I started with this frame which I purchased for a $1 at a local thrift store.
Not horrible by any means just not what I was going for.
I liked the white part of the mat but not the peachie-flesh color.
I just used my trusty black paint and painted the frame as well as the mat black.

I gathered a few scrapbook supplies, some ribbon, printed a K and also found a great sheet music
graphic from The Graphics Fairy.
I used the K because of their last name and the sheet music because my Bro writes
music and sings in a band.

Here is the finished product.  I love it because it is uniquely for them!
This is a great project any one can tweak and make specifically for someone.
Give it a try you wont be disappointed!

I won these two candleholders!  She made them herself!   I love them but have not used them for candles yet.
They are the perfect size for snacks.  Dena is a very crafty and talented lady.  I love the kitchen island she created check it out HERE.
