Eggs Anyone?

It all started when I decided that it would be a good idea to get some chickens.  Well if you mail order them there is a 25 chick minimum.  Of course I needed to get a few more for good measure and ended up with 32.  We waited AND WAITED for the chicks to mature so we could get eggs.  I even told the chickens that if they didn't start laying soon I would have to make some chicken and dumplings. WELL I sure did not know what I was asking for!  We are down to 22 chickens and boy howdy when spring comes I will have eggs coming out my ears!!  To solve the problem the kids have started a little business.  I am so proud of them.  They clean the eggs and call customers to get orders and even use the $ to buy chicken feed.

All this to show you our newest size of egg for those counting the calories!

do you see it on the right?

Nope it is not a bouncy ball!

Even my Moonshine had a hard time believing it.
This was really something we have had a few smaller eggs but this one beats them all!

Birthday LadyBugs

Sunshine turned 10!  Yes I said 10!  I love my babies and want them to grow and become wonderful adults.  I just wish they would grow a little slower.  Sunshine wanted me to make cupcakes for her class which I have managed to get out of every year so far.  We wanted to make them a little special so we made Lady Bug Cupcake toppers.

I found these Sandwich Toothpicks at the Dollar tree.

We used my Sizzix to cut out the two bigger size circles we needed and then my paper hole punch for the spots on the backs of the lady bugs.

We cut the smaller circles in half to use for the heads.

then we added the spots to the back.

Sunshine decided she wanted 6 dots on the backs and also a line.  So we just used  a black sharpie for the line.

we ran out of red paper so we used yellow as well.  When we were done decorating the lady bugs we added the stick and used another circle of paper to cover it on the backside.

the cupcakes went from this to

She had such a good time putting these toppers together.
Another project completed successfully.

Four Dollars to Fancy

Sorry I have been MIA  I have been busy the kiddos switched from a public school to a Private Christian school and there has been a lot of change for me to deal with.  Then my office was torn up to put a new wall unit in (it is wonderful)  I will post that later as well.

I know we have all seen the dollar tree project with candle sticks and holders glued together so when I saw these black metal votive holders I finally decided it was time for me to give it a shot!

They were cute as they were I can imagine with the tea light lit there would be light dancing through the little holes.  But I saw these glass vase thingies right next to the votive holders and thought this could be so much more.

These are great and what a nice big size.  I love the things that can be found at the Dollar Store!

I got out my trusty Super glue which can also be bought at the dollar tree and came up with. . .

THESE!  Whatcha think??  Super cute huh?
Here they are looking super Glam on my mantle.

So I know I said Four dollars to Fancy but if you have to buy the glue it would be
Five dollars to Foo Foo!
